Free Tri Chick design...

I'm so excited that I finally finished my Tri Chick, swim, bike, run design! I have to give special thanks to Wendy for putting a fire under me to make it happen. I had started designing and digitizing it last year while I was training for my triathlon, but with training and work I never completed it. I had planned to make towels for me & my 2 girlfriends that I raced with, but I just never made it happen. It's a little over a year after the race, but I made the towels for Lou & Patty anyway [why not, the design is finally finished!]. I'll surprise them at tennis practice tomorrow morning!
I think it's super cute and so feminine, so I hope you enjoy it for FREE!
I'm very curious to know how many ladies that embroider also participate in triathlons, so if you join the group and download it, please leave a comment here on the blog and let me know! If you're currently training for a race, let me know that too!

Download it FREE today!
  • If you're a member of my yahoo group, just Click Here to download [or go directly to the group and login and download]
  • If you're not a member of my yahoo group, just Click Here to join the group, then click on "Files", then "Free Embroidery Designs", then download any of the free designs that interest you ~ Have Fun!
Design Details:
3.2" high x 5.2" wide
8,760 stitches
3 colors [all 3 lines are in a different color block so you can mix & match your colors]

Please Note: Free designs are only posted for 6 months. If this post is older than 6 months, the design will no longer be posted for free, but you can still purchase it @ AKDesigns Boutique.

Have fun stitching!

Got tunes?

I decided that I would be a better lap swimmer if I had tunes, so I got an iSH2-Waterproof Headset. It's a waterproof headset designed specifically to work with the iPod Shuffle. It came in the mail yesterday, so I took it to the pool this morning to test it out and had an amazing swim thanks to my new toy!

It's perfect ~ you know how hard it is to do any kind of exercise without music and swimming laps is even harder - well, it's harder for me because I'm not a very good swimmer and it's really boring. I already had my iPod shuffle loaded with running songs, so I just put it in the little compartment and was ready to go!

This might seem like a silly purchase, but I have to swim more laps and get better/faster before the next triathlon (June 2009). ;D

Sprint Triathlon @ Callaway Gardens

I had a great day! I participated in my first Super Sprint Triathlon @ Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA with my girlfriends, Lou and Patty. We had to swim a 1/4 mile, bike 10 miles, then run 2 miles. I started swim lessons in January to start training for this and they didn't really help me at all (no fault of the instructors ;D )! I guess they did help me not panic when I was in water that was too deep for me to touch, but that's about it! The swim was really hard. The biking wasn't bad, there were just more rolling hills then we trained for. The run wasn't bad either, because it was pretty flat. I ended up finishing in 1 hour and 17 minutes, which was a lot faster than I planned. It wasn't easy, but I'm so glad I did it and I'll do it again next year!

Jeff, Allie and I had never been to Callaway Gardens, so we were pleasantly surprised at how pretty the whole area was! Jeff did a great job being our Tri Photographer!

In case anyone is wondering about the pictures below, I used Creative Memories StoryBook Creator to make the pages, then I took screen shots of them and posted the screen shots. My consultant is Pam and she is wonderful!
