Free Hoop Basting Templates

I've just posted the FREE April designs on my Yahoo Group and on my website. I'm offering all of the completed Hoop Basting Templates in one zip file. Some might wonder "What's the purpose of a hoop basting template?". The purpose is to keep your items secure and in place without moving while stitching. These templates will work on hooped and un-hooped items. The templates are just simple basting stitches that stitch around the outside edge of the hoop before the design stitches. This is a great tool because whether your item is hooped or not, it ensures that your item and stabilizer are secure and in place before stitching your design.

April 2010 Free Design Set - #515 Hoop Basting Templates

The zip file includes Hoop Templates in all of our available formats - ART, DST, EXP, HUS, JEF, PES, SEW, SHV, VIP, XXX in the following sizes:

• 80mm x 120mm = 3.1” x 4.7” approx. hoop sewing field size
• 100mm x 100mm = 3.9” x 3.9” approx. hoop sewing field size
• 110mm x 126mm = 4.3” x 4.9” approx. hoop sewing field size
• 115mm X 170 mm – 4.5” x 6.6” approx. hoop sewing field size
• 130mm x 180mm = 5.1" x 7" approx. hoop sewing field size
• 140mm x 200mm = 5.5” x 7.8” approx. hoop sewing field size
• 160mm x 260mm = 6.2" x 10.2" approx. hoop sewing field size
• 200mm x 200mm = 7.8” x 7.8” approx. hoop sewing field size

I've created many additional sizes, but they are still in the testing phase. If you need a size that isn't included in the list above, please send me an e-mail and I'll create one for you.

Design Thread Colors

TIP of the Day - Design Thread Colors

The colors listed in the design are just suggested colors or sometimes just “place holders”. Feel free to use your imagination and make the design your own by changing the colors. If the design you’re working on has several stitch angles and stitch types, you can even eliminate some of the colors [stitch them in the same color] because the angles and types will all reflect the light differently to make them appear to be different colors.
