1) a personalized tennis or golf towel
OR
2) 2 sets of embroidery designs (your choice)

Have Fun and Be Creative

~ ~ ~ Productive Day ~ ~ ~
I'm really trying to gear up for the St. Marlo Holiday Bazaar [the reason for the contest above ;D]. My Stitchin' Sister, aka Joanna, and I are streamlining our offerings this year and we are working on a Country Club line that focuses on Tennis and Golf gifts. We both embroider and she does a lot of "bling", so between the 2 of us I think we will have a full line. I really enjoy making towels [what a funny thing to enjoy!], so I'm trying to come up with as many Tennis and Golf designs as I can. Both of these were very easy to make ~ details are below each towel.

Items Needed
  • Tennis Towel
  • 4" x 4" Applique Circle embroidery design
  • 5" x 5" square of your choice of fabric
  • AKD Sultan Font
  • 20" of 7/8" wide ribbon that matches

Items Needed
  • Tennis Towel
  • 4.25" x 4.25" Circle embroidery design
  • 3.77" x 3.77" Circle embroidery design
  • Vine Monogram (sorry I can't sell it)
  • 20" of 7/8" wide ribbon that matches

Argyle is so classy and so cute...

I made this argyle design last year, but only made 2 sample towels with it and never listed it to sell! The towels were for my tennis captains, Debbie & Sonia. They both play a little golf and I thought these would be really cute for golf or tennis. Well, Jess saw Sonia's towel and wanted one like it, so I pulled the design up, made some adjustments (made the whole design a little bigger and made the stitches a little bolder) and made Jess' towel. I have to say that it looked so cute that I'm ready to sell the towels and the designs!

"Do you guys have gas?"

That's the question I called and asked 17 gas stations within a 4.4 mile radius of my house this morning before I had one tell me where I could get gas! The answer was just "No" at all the other stations! So, I called the station with gas (Chevron @ Lakeland Plaza, Cumming, GA) and they said they would probably have gas until 11:30 or 12:00 (it was a little after 9:00 when I made the call). I immediately jumped in my car and headed over there. I only had to wait in line for about 30 minutes and they didn't have any limits on how much you could get, so I filled up and it was a successful trip!

One note about the service ~ it was excellent! They had 2 controlled lines coming into the station and someone directing each line to the appropriate pumps (tank on driver's side or passenger side?). I had read an article about fights in lines due to chaos, so it was nice to have such an organized, controlled line. Funny how such a simple thing can make all the difference ;D

Jeff was also low on gas this morning, so he took the LONG way to work to pass as many stations as he could. Driving way out of the way paid off because he found 1 station after passing at least 7 without gas.

I was nearly on empty, so I couldn't afford to drive around looking for a station, so I was feeling trapped here with no gas and no possibility of getting any. I'm so glad I have gas now, I can get busy and stay home working without feeling trapped :)

I hope I don't have to post any other notes about the GA Gas Shortage...but they say that this will continue to be a problem into at least sometime next week.

Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer

We did it! Lou & I walked 20 miles yesterday and 10 miles this morning to complete the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer. We both struggled [I had several blisters on my toes and Lou's knee was hurting her], but it was well worth it! It was a great experience and we met some really nice women while we were walking and the crews that volunteer to help with traffic and b'rest stops were amazing! I will do it again!

PLUS, my mom and dad came in from Indiana to see me walk!

I'll post more pictures of the actual walk in the next few days.
